Abstract:

In the context of the commemorations of the centenary of the birth of the composer and organist Olivier Messiaen (1908-1992), a cycle of concerts was organised presenting the composer’s complete works for organ. Care was taken to make these concerts as accessible as possible to the general public by broadcasting the concert on a large screen, having the organists themselves introducing the works played and projecting the texts that inspired some of these works.

A series of articles by staff and investigators of Escola das Artes and CITAR on the composer and his organ compositions was compiled into a publication.
