Abstract: 

The doctoral project consists in preparing a gesture analysis tool allowing interaction and control of various parameters in real time.

Objectives: 

Develop gesture analysis software.
It should allow:


  • To obtain statistical data on movements made (accelerations, speeds, periodicity, travel).

  • Recognition of gestures made in real time. 

  • Data transmission by OSC 

  • Gesture recording for offline analysis

  • Easy, intuitive use.

  • The use of various optic tracking technologies (Kinect, Vicon)
Activities: 

This tool will be used in the interactive opera of Miso Music – “A Laugh to Cry” which will premiere on 17 July in S. Luis in Lisbon and then go on tour in Poland and Sweden.

Doctoral thesis until the end of 2013.
